    Keeping you safe - An Introduction to Security Awareness

    Course delivery

    This eLearning course has been developed to provide an introduction to online security concepts for the healthcare sector.

    There is one module in this course which take around 30 minutes to complete.

    Learning outcomes

    Completion of this course will enable participants to:

    • explain why developing a positive security culture will encourage desired behaviours and recognise emerging threats

    • describe why you need to 'think before you click (or select)' to stay safe online

    • adopt safe email practices to reduce the risk of a security incident or data breach

    • recognise the consequences of sharing information when posting online

    • identify the risks of using public Wi-Fi to access, send or receive sensitive information

    • recognise the importance of using a unique password for each device and account

    • adopt good password practices by creating strong passwords that are easy for you to remember (but hard for someone else to guess)

    • discuss the benefits of multi-factor authentication for greater protection

    • explain the need to keep devices up-to-date to reduce the risk of known vulnerabilities

    • recognise the risks of using USB drives

    • identify the actions you need to take in case of a security incident in your organisation.
