This course provides an overview of the My Health Record system and the key health information that it contains. It outlines benefits of use for aged care health providers as well as describes how residents and their representatives can use and manage their records. It also explains how aged care services and their authorised staff can access the My Health Record system.

The Australian Digital Health Agency is currently working with health and care provider organisations to connect and use My Health Record to ensure timely and connected care.

When health and care services are connected through digital health tools, health and care providers and authorised care staff have immediate access to an individual's key health information. This connected care will support providers to ensure that their clients or patients receive better continuity of care. My Health Record empowers clients and their carers to share their medical information securely with related health professionals, ensuring they can receive timely treatment.
